Amy grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where most of her family still resides. She received her B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 1998 and moved to Boulder, Colorado, where she worked in the computer storage industry. After a few years, Amy realized that engineering was not her true calling and moved to San Diego to attend Thomas Jefferson School of Law. She received her J.D. in 2005 and returned to Colorado to practice law. After a brief stint as a prosecutor in the Aurora City Attorney’s Office she went into private practice, joining the law firm of Weaver & Fitzhugh, P.C. in Montrose, Colorado. Since January 2015, Amy has been with Devor & Plumhoff, LLC.
Amy’s areas of practice are Family Matters including divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, child custody, child support, contempt, adoptions, and child protection cases. She also practices Estate Planning including preparation of Wills and Trusts, Probate, Guardianships and Conservatorships. She also assists clients with legal disputes requiring arbitration, litigation, mediation and appeals.
When not practicing law, Amy stays busy with her family, hiking, and camping. She also serves as a board member and officer of Uncompahgre Volunteer Legal Aid, is the current president of the 7th Judicial District Bar Association and is a member of the Region 6 Board of Governors for the Colorado Bar Association.
